CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The New Jersey Coastal Resilience Collaborative (NJCRC) announces a call for abstracts for a one-day, in-person Coastal Flooding Technical Workshop to be held at Stevens Institute of Technology on March 19, 2025.

The NJCRC welcomes all coastal stakeholders, researchers, practitioners and managers to exchange information about the latest science, engineering, and management systems needed to improve our understanding and prediction of coastal flooding and its associated impacts on the built and natural environment. Abstracts are being accepted for either a 20-minute oral presentation, 7-minute lightning presentation, or a poster presentation that addresses scientific research on coastal flooding issues, such as:

  • Visualizing coastal flood risk
  • Assessing coastal flood mitigation techniques
  • Coastal flood modeling and mapping
  • Coastal flood risk modeling and insurance
  • Project successes and failures
  • Impacts of climate change on future flood hazards

All abstracts must be submitted by Friday, December 6, at 5 p.m. EDT. Abstracts should include discussion on objective/motivation, methods/approach, results/findings, and conclusions/lessons learned. Submissions will only be accepted online using the submittal form. Please follow all instructions for the submittal form listed below. If you have any questions about the submittal form, contact Terry Doss (tdoss@njsea.com).

We encourage students to apply as leads on submission in all categories. Student award(s) will be presented.
